I am not a winter person, and you definitely won’t hear me complain about the winter that we left behind. It was considered “mild” and didn’t deliver an overwhelming abundance of snow. But, there were not a lot of sparkly winter moments and no postcard-perfect views out the window.

Now, the birds are tweeting to let us know that spring will soon be in full swing. But color—COLOR—seals the new season in place: The vibrant turquoise of a robin’s eggs. Hints of almost neon green dappled throughout the budding woods. Bunches of golden daffodils crossing the finish line before the rest of their floral cousins pop up. Spring color is everything.

Spring color has a politeness to it. Soft pastels that would never scream for attention announce it quietly in stages. A pale and gentle palette is especially apropos right now given the kindness and care our essential workers, our neighbors, and our community deserve. To inspire an upcoming project, I created a mood board of blush and green. Wicker textures and a diamond-pattern woven wool carpet contrast the smooth glow from a satin-brass drawer pull.

This is my inspiration, and I’ve discovered an array of pretty, pale wonders to help achieve the look.

blush and green Picks

There’s nothing girlie about Anthropologie’s “Delaney” chair. It wraps pink linen around its entire exposed frame—legs and all—in a crisp and masculine way. Kayce Hughes’ calming artwork impresses with abstract simplicity. The rattan “Sausalito” bar cart from Mainly Baskets is ready to serve iced tea, lemonade, and warm-weather refreshers like mint juleps and rosé wine. As we’ve stayed inside and spent time with our families and housemates, dining together now bears more meaning. It’s a reason to set a lovely table. Green or pink, take your pick from Tory Burch’s iconic and recolored Dodie Thayer lettuce plates. And if a small gathering is in store, the handmade dappled bowl by Paul Schneider Ceramics is an artful way to serve.

Those are a handful of my picks. But I’m leaving you with links to plenty of other stylish products that say spring—the homey way.
