Beach season is here! Being outside with the wind in my hair and toes in the sand—away from crowds—sounds like the perfect cure for coronavirus quarantine cabin fever. For now, I’ll have to let my imagination take me seaside, but I have plenty of memories to carry me to the beach whenever I want.

Growing up in the Northeast meant summers on the beaches of Nantucket, Long Island, and Connecticut. Living in Iowa, summer always makes me yearn to be back at the beach. This year is no exception. For me, summer fun means body surfing, sailing, and drinking frosé and “buck a shuck” oysters at happy hour with my family.

Even though I won’t make it to the beach soon, I can’t help but imagine new sunny-day outfits. I can channel the beach vacation vibe with clothes designed for water activities, poolside lounging, and dinners alfresco—frosé in hand. They feel good and make me look great no matter where I wear them.

I’ve curated really fun girlie pieces that are surfacing on favorite websites. I love the bikinis from Tory Burch this season. With their classic floral prints and simple cuts, the bikinis pair beautifully with a straw hat and a pair of my favorite waterproof Arizona EVA Birkenstocks in hot pink.

I also love soft Onia towels in colorful stripes to use by the beach or the pool. And, of course, don’t forget sunscreen. Elta MD sunscreen is my favorite for keeping my skin healthy and protected.

I might not make it to the beach for a while, but I’ll enjoy my beachwear close to home. On hot Iowa days, I’ll still need that sunscreen, cool outfits, and a frozen drink. If you get to the beach soon, have a great time and drink some frosé for me!
